What says you? The one quintessential S&W "Revolver" every Smith collector must have in their collection?

Ns, Ks, I,s and J frames.......Ain't no way to pick one.

Show me a guy with one S&W revolver in his collection and I'll show you a guy who don't really collect S&W's.

But if I could have just one.......28-1 Highway Patrolman or the Registered Magnum (with certificate) shipped to some Army General who's initials are GSP. It ain't much to ask, I know, lol.

I say the quintessential S&W revolver is actually a police revolver, blued steel,
4 inch barrel, and in .357 magnum
(a round the company developed in the late 1930's).
It could be a K-frame or the N-frame.

I've had a model 15 before. I think I'd like the same thing in 357 mag, so that would be called a model 19 "combat magnum."

Model 36....still looking for a snubby!
Me, too.
Still looking for a home for my latest set of stag grips.

Gotta lotta J-frames, want a slightly worn 36 for these.

So you decided to list a 686 instead of a 586, you just like that model in stainless better unlike the others in the list?

My choice would be a 19, have had a few over the years, always keep one in the safe.

I carry a 60 on occasion
