I'd buy a good mid-range 1911....I've been eyeing the duo-tone commander S&W with the scandium frame.....everytime I pick one it it just calls to me.

ruger 10/22 (appx. $220), take off the barrel, and stock, replace w/ a bull barrel and hoge stock(appx. $170)

for that much, ruger has a tactical10/22 that already had a hogue stock, coated receiver hammer forged bull barrel, and a bipod. I love mine.

I have a 10/22 w/ the houge stock, bull barrel, a nice BSA sweet 22 scope and bipod, it drills a half doller size group at 100 yards all day long

my exact set up.

but to answer the OP's question. With an extra G I'd get a Sky Guns Int AR-15 and use the rest for optics and ammo.
