I am currently looking for a 6.8 SPC for this purpose almost exclusively.

For the OP "anything" long as it kills um.. I've hunted with and without dogs. Knife, 22LR, to 7mmSTW

If I ever get time to hog hunt I'll take my Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70 with Rem. 300gr. JHP's and my Ruger Old Model Vaquero .45 Long Colt with Cor-Bon 300gr. JSP's @ 1300 fps.

Yes the old .45 long colt has a great calming affect on an old porker.Nice thump I might add .Wold not mind taking a few with one I have been part of taking one with a .45 long colt ,but have not been the trigger man myself .Gotta put that on the list.

2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 duramax with 6'' lift 35'' tires and a custom welded brushguard for pigs. It was my turn to drive. This was made to be a pig killing machine! Had one about 10-15 lbs get bounced around in the wheel well for a while.

Cant stand the critters but love hunting them. Will choot em with whatever I have on me. I want to get one with a .17hmr and one with a .50BMG one day.
