Titanium nitride would be awesome. That bling bling Desert Eagle type finish. I think it would be hard to do with an assembled AKM variant though. You need to fully dissemble to have them refinish. It would work way better if you had a nice cleaned up de-milled parts kit and a Draco bbl then coated all the parts then sent off to be pro-assembled.
Maybe try that candy flake Cerakote stuff that is supposed to be more “shiney” I believe? That may look the closest to gold with something you can apply more easily without dropping big coin and work.

Found this on the google machine. Mad custom coating. Never heard of them or dealt with them but this is their Gold Cerakote.
