Who does custom 1911 work n GA?

I am thinking about buying a Colt Rail gun and having a smith do some work to it. Is there anybody here in GA that you guys would recommend? All I really want done to it is slide/frame fitting and 25 line per inch checkering on the front strap and back also.

Keep in mind I have never had any custom work done on a 1911. How much should this cost?

Pedro Ortiz at Ortiz Gun Works in Savannah. Best 1911 smith in the state. Period. He's ungodly quick, and his work is impeccable. He does everything from engraving to trigger jobs. There aren't many people that can do a 1911 trigger job by FEEL and SOUND and have it right the first time.

He's also a darn fine shooter and placed fifth in a major competition recently.

ETA: I can't quote you a price, but Pedro is incredibly reasonable for the QUALITY of work he does. If you don't believe me, take a trip there. It may not be near you, but there's a reason he's popular. He does work for people from all over the country.
