Who else is drooling over the new Savage?

I do like the side charging feature.

I prefer a side-charger on an SPR, it a standard centrally located charging handle for a general purpose carbine.

Almost bought one on Gunbroker, but got caught up on here and bought two other guns. May pick one up later, next purchase may be the Silencerco Hybrid.

For a "door kicker" M4 I prefer a centrally mounted charging handle because it's ambidextrous. For an SPR, I prefer a side-charger.

I'm not in any way saying your opinion was wrong, or invalid. You stayed what you like, and I stated what I preferred. I used the words "I prefer" twice to make it clear it was a personal opinion for my personal use.

FWIW, the Savage MSR side-charger also has a redundant, "standard", centrally mounted charging handle. JP Enterprises also has a similar setup.
