I’m curious how STI has been so successful rebranding itself. Pretty impressive.

That's the cat's ass right there!
The new HD series is going to be drop-safe. Which is interesting because I would imagine being drop-safe should be a prerequisite to being considered "Duty-Grade" these days. Sadly that will affect the crispness of the trigger break. Can't have your cake and eat it, too. With that being said, you can easily dump that much $ into a polymer gun and it wont shoot nearly as nice as a stock 2011. There's a reason why many LE agencies have approved them for duty use.
I don’t believe they are drop safe. Garand thumb posted a video of one going off by being dropped. Any gun , that anybody owns needs to be drop safe.
🙄 defense /duty/ range. You can slip and fall at the range, you can drop your gun, you can find yourself in a situation where the only gun available is that stacato . Guns need to be made drop safe. There is no excuse. The new HD series is going to be drop-safe. Which is interesting because I would imagine being drop-safe should be a prerequisite to being considered "Duty-Grade" these days. I wouldn't go so far as to say every gun a person owns should be. Many guns from back in the day were not. Range toys and such I'm not worried about. But I would agree that any defensive or "duty" weapon ought to be.
You that last paragraph “ I wouldn’t go so far as to say every gun a person should be” is just an excuse for staccato, there is some dude with a Taurus g2c ( 199$ academy special) out there and his gun is better than a non drop safe staccato. The new HD series is going to be drop-safe.
