I'm building my first one too. I sold/traded off all my SKSs and AK and don't really want another one. But I have a few thousand rounds of ammo...so figured I'd build an AR around the ammo rather than the usual inspiring barrel or stripped lower.

because sig sauer makes them.I've been researching and thinking about starting an AR build in 7.62x39 and I have a few questions. First, why aren't there more of them out there? Is it the reliability issues and if so haven't most of them been fixed with the enhanced firing pins, mags, and feed ramps? Are there other issues that have come up? Does anyone on here have experience with a build that runs flawlessly? If so, what parts manufacturers did you use? Which parts are are recommended and more importantly are there any that I should completely stay away from? Any help from those in the know would be great. Thanks in advance y'all.
***Rdkill, I started typing this in your thread this morning but thought it would be better to just start another.
Are they different than Rock Rivers x39 AR? Thanksbecause sig sauer makes them.
