Yesterday was my 41 anniversary when I went in the military, I got hammered

The night before my induction I got hammered. Woke up on the back row of the induction center next day about 4pm(Charlotte, NC). . Some guys told me they had been calling my name all day, but they never looked for me. I staggered up and turned myself in. I had passed the physical months prior. No questions asked, just took my blood pressure and escorted me into a room where I took the oath. Next day I flew to basic training with a hangover. I ended up being a career aircrew member and flew with a few more hangovers. Glad I gave that booze crap up 37 years ago.

I am pretty sure you missed all those birds that you flew in them, or maybe just brought into your memory those earlier years. Anyways, it is honorable to say “Happy Enlistment Anniversary”

40 years ago this past June for me. I literally had high school graduation on Friday and shipped out to basic on the following Monday. Didn’t get drunk though. Really didn’t start drinking until I was in Korea 2 years later, then I drank like a fish.
