Yugo m70 vs Mak 90?

I do not like the grenade launching stuff on the Yugos. There are models without it. A MAK 90 has a thicker receiver than standard. Prices on AK have dropped in the last month. The new WASRs 10 that were above 700 are now below 600. Be on the look out for a MAK 90 and drop the hammer on one.

The mak 90 is made from cheaper chinese steel though. Any knife guy can tell you stay away from chinese steel. That's prolly why they made it thicker. I just need a tank of a gun

Mak90, thumbhole stock, no side optic rail, no threaded barrel, no provision to secure a cleaning rod.

With todays cost of the Mak-90 plus upgrades to de-neuter it you just spent more than you can buy a used SLR107 for.

No I'm just wondering. I have no experience in the Ak realm. Figured I would gather the folks that know and maybe learn. Only trolling I do is when Im fishing.

You will be happy with either one.
If I had a choice I would have picked an uncorveted Saiga for even less money (if they were being imported), and converted it myself. I like it more than either Yugo or Mak90.
I know many people dismiss a need for chrome-lined barrel and chamber, unless you shoot corrosive ammo.
I grew up around AKs, and CL is not just about corrosive ammo. It is about keeping your chamber as smooth and hard as it can be, so thousands of rounds later, lacquer from ammo does not become a problem and empty cases stick in the chamber of the gun.

For a truck gun, where moisture can condense in the gun from wet boots, AC and temperature swings chrome lining is also important.
