I had a bubble gut Cabelas gun counter guy refuse to show me an air rifle because I didn't have my F.O.I.D. card on me that afternoon. Illinois.

I understand ILL. has some pretty aggressive gun laws. Then you have idiots that know nothing......I have lost nothing in that state

IMO stay away big box and especially stay away from Cabelas, Dicks, and Bass Pro Shops. They jack up their prices above MSRP and their policies are very strict in person. They run background checks on everyone including CCW holders. Big Box I would support is Academy, Palmetto State Armory, and BudsGunShop. Also, congrats on first pew pew! Never sell it! I regret selling my first firearm.
