I was always a grade behind my older brother who was 15 months older than me until I hit the eighth grade and they added the 12th year to the Ga public school system and they decided those that had just finished the eighth grade should have 4 more years of school!! 1948 I think it was.

It's so funny reading these posts. My GF's mom was born in 1912. She remembered doing her school work and reading by lantern light in Iowa.
