Ah, I see. No benefit then. You would think the fee paid by the advertisers would go a long way with covering some of that bandwith cost, it sure encourages the sight owners to appoint hall monitors and impose infractions. Same happened at the GON site. I guess I just miss the good ole days when it wasn't quite like that.

Luke

Can someone tell me what the GON site is????? Thanks

I'm 64 yrs old and a Navy veteran. I've been in here for about 2 weeks now and in that time I've been talked down to several times. I guess people assume if your new you dont know anything and have no experience. All I've seen is a bunch of arguing, disagreements and bickering, I see no community in here. and nothing that would make me want to give $15 away.

i appreciate your service HenCo neighbor. Ive been sniped before as well but its not the majority of the interaction ive had. a few individuals are known to be that way, so i laugh and go on. you'll find most people (just like anywhere in life) are pretty decent. Go Navy!

Maybe Im misreading your post and I mean no offense but do you have something against this site because of adversting? Many features of this site cost OS money to get programmed, bandwith isnt free, and the equipment isnt either. Anyways the 15$ goes to making the site better.

Also you get more pm space and chances to win in more giveaways, especially the yearly giveaway.

No JD, I don't have anything against the advertising. I joined the GGT back in 2006 ( I believe it was), I was actually a member of it before I learned out GON. I will admit that my post rate on GON was much greater than here but back then GON was the hotspot to be, but I still treasured my membership on GGT. I watched GON explode with the corporate sponsorship and then came the recruitment of hall monitors and the imposing of infractions and so on. They soon policed themselves right out a good deal of their regulars. Now, the current residents over there may very well argue that they only lost what they needed to keep it as they wanted it. Many of the herd left for the GGT and for the most part so did I. GGT traffic exploded and largest rule that we had was that you couldn't bad mouth GON, but hey anything else that needed saying could be said. Then one day.... bam..... no more GGT, it was the ODT and with it came the corporate sponsors and the infractions and hall monitors. I still come to the site, but not near what I used to and not near like I did when I spent time at the other. For me, personally, I would rather pay $15 a year or even $15 a month and it be as it started than I had see the corporate sponsors and all that comes with it. I have no hard feelings, it is just how I feel.

Supporter Benefits?

Do you get a vote?

Protection from the infractions?

Many years ago I messed around with a stripper at a nudey bar, we got into it and she wanted me banned from the establishment but the manager refused because I was a "supporter", does it work like that?

Luke

These folks can say what they want, but when it comes to the nut cutting, the non supporter will loose every time.

I can't support a site that will not allow a member to defend himself when attacked.

I can't support a site that is overly sensitive, politically correct, and screaming racial, whenever dark is mentioned.

I guess it is kinda like eating at the Golden Coral in Newnan one time, I filled out the comment card and left the following remark; "I would rather have had a $1 off my meal, then the cop at the door". As it turned out, the waitress managed to pass the comment card to the cop before I got to the car and he came out running and hollering at me to stop. He just wanted to inquire as to my feelings..... I told him the the value of the meal was more important than the security because I didn't need him there to safely make it to my car. He understood...

You can either support your stances with your voice, your wallet or your rifle.

Personally I am glad to be supporting this group and our way of life with the first two. (The last one hopefully won't pan out).
