Yeah, it was never a problem for me. I carried the freefall for a while, until I decided to buy a leek.

I stash knives everywhere just in case. I'll put one of these on the tractor and one in the car.

I'm the same way, I keep a pocket knife, machete, hatchet and muliltitool in my truck.

i made this mod because i felt the handle was a bit small and wanted to choke up on the blade when i was cutting thick(1") corrugated

This is my EDC it is a Kershaw 1660CB the blade a composite of CPM-D2 on the cutting surface and Sandvik 13C26 on the spine.
One of the Best EDC Pocket Knifes I Own, it is a Great Tool.

The safeties are stupid anyway. I took it out on my EDC knife. I've never had it open accidentally... but before I removed the safety, it would engage on it's own all the time, requiring two hands to deploy it. Drove me crazy
