Suppressive fire has never been a great causality producer in any war fought since the invention of the firearm. No reason to believe it would do any more harm just because a barn or camper is the target. The goal of suppressive fire is to stop another's lethal conduct, not necessarily kill the lethal actor, and that is usually just what it does....sometimes. If you really are interested in the historical effects of suppressive fire here's a good read.

They are often one in the same, lol.when is it suppressing fire and when is it just spraying and praying lol
Did you see the part where he was wanted for murder hiding inside of a camper and fired from inside? Wasn't like he was out in the open and all the LEOs had a bead on him. He couldn't see them and they couldn't see him. He fired twice first and the San Fran cops responded with what amounted to suppressive fire. If you are going to tell the story, at least tell it all.

they are cops, they know best.Start a cop thread and wait for it,even those that are not cops know more than any swinging richard in the world.Suppressing fire...??? Since when did this become a military operation... 65 rounds went somewhere down the street, certainly not in the perp...
We, and that means cops too... are supposed to identify your target and what's behind it before you shoot... Damm glad that street wasn't filled full of people when they opened fire...
Their range officer should disqualify all of them, send them all back for remedial training...
