Cleaning Brass

What do you guys throw into the tumbler with the media to give your brass a shine? I know it doesn't matter if it's shiny or not I'd just like to play around with it some. Any suggestions?

I add some of this to corn cob media.

Nu Finish liquid car polish. Comes in an orange bottle. No ammonia so it doesnt hurt the brass. One cap full to about 6 cups of media. My tumbler takes 3 cap fulls. When it needs a boost I just put one cap full in.

Oh yeah. I am seriously looking into the stainless steel tumbling media I have plans for a home made rotary tumbler that will cost less than half of a thumblers tumbler and do 3 times as much at one time. If you want to try something new you might want to check it out.

Can I get brass locally?

Read some horror stories about brasso. It contains ammonia which will weaken brass. I dont know this from personal experience and am in no way bashing anyone that uses it but I have read too many cautions against it.

Unless the formula has been changed, CRB is correct. Brasso is detrimental to case life.
