If I remember correctly, you can carry in government buildings that don't have metal detectors, or security screenings.

Unless there is a metal detector or security station, you are legal, no matter what a cop may tell you.

Thats about it as far as i recall too. I have never had issues with it.

Signs do not carry the weight of the law in GA, even on government buildings. From GA HB 60

As long as the tag office is not in the same building as the courthouse, of course.
