Been there myself. Victim of large corporate America. I feel for you as it took me 7 months to settle.

Damn. I just called the service number and canceled my DSL and home telephone numbers. I was assured that the last bill would include only the days from Dec 16th to the 27th and I'd be credited the amount for the days Dec 28th - Jan 15th. I hope that's true.

I'm keeping my mobile number.

I rock directv and usually call in 3-4 times a year because of the rates. I found that being polite has made it much easier and usually it isn’t a hassle. Someone made a comment about never having the same bill two months in a row - I feel your pain. It is definitely annoying AF. I’m buying a new house shortly and I am pretty positive that stupid sattelite dish won’t be on the new roof.
