I have never work for tips, and never anticipated receiving a tip, although I have received several rather large ones, $30.00 - $250.00, for taking pride in my work.

Tipping is for exceptional service, above and beyond, not for doing your job.

My mailman knocked over my mailbox a few years ago and drove off. Lucky for me I saw the whole thing and called the post office and they had to come back out and fix it. So nope they don’t get a tip.

We had a mailman a few years back we nicknamed Cliff Clavin. Backed over neighbor's mailbox, hit everyone's with his mirror, always driving up into yards. Funny thing, we live on a cul-de-sac, sometimes he would get one house off, would drive around 2 or 3 rounds trying to get it right. We usually ended up having to re-deliver among ourselves.
No tip, but lots of complaints.
