Dumb question about Loctite

Blue does the trick. Red will hold more permanently. Never tried nail polish.

If you loctite your grip screw your grip screw bushing may unscrew when you try to remove the grip screw.

use clear fingernail polish

Had a holster maker at one of the local gun shows tell me the same thing about applying fingernail polish on the screws if they ever start to loosen up.

Use a lock washer not lock tite. Seen threads come out with lock tite.

I don't use anything on grip screws. If you want to use loctite use purple.

Purple for grip screws and blue for scopes, mounts, etc. Make sure you thoroughly clean/degrease the screw and threads in the item to be loctited (is that a word...). Torque to spec which is the key.

You can also just use a little grease on things like grip screws and that will also work in my experience. Don't try grease on scope mounts. That will back out for sure on high recoiling rifles. Just my 2 cents and experience.
