Not that I think a lot of those pardons are a bad thing. I looked at a lot done by past presidents and some of those folks were just victims of big government. A lot are dead. But some are............yep.... of the still living presidents

Nagin is a first class piece of human garbage. He should have gotten the max sentence of 20 years. He used a human tragedy compounded by his own ineptitude to line his pockets.
Say what you will, but no matter how "modern & evolved" we become, we are still not smart enough to learn the lessons of the past. Human nature, and all the key factors that led to the survival of the species, can't just be thrown away because an idealist had a dream. Granted, it was a noble dream, but it has gone over like Domino's cookie pizza. When there are visible differences in individuals, and co-existing cultures with values that are not parallel, you will always have problems, and those problems will be blamed on the most visible difference. To deny it, is delusional.
