No not the pin but the part that clicks in where there is only one hole, and i had a small set screw left over and out of all the videos Ive watched no one used a set screw for anything

If you ordered the MOE kit from PSA, it probably came with a Magpul MOE trigger guard. The Magpul trigger guard does not have a detent, it uses a set screw to hold the front in place. Sounds like you have the parts you are supposed to.

Is the trigger guard you received flat and made of aluminum or is it a molded piece of plastic? The standard trigger guard is aluminum with a built in detent. There wouldn't be a part missing from an aluminum TG, because it comes pre-assembled. The Magpul TG uses a roll pin and set screw.

Hmmm interesting I'll use that set screw but when they sent me the wrong order last time (wrong color) it didn't have a set screw but the metal pin the clicks into place haha

Good. You're all set then. Insert the set screw in the front of the trigger guard and you're all done.

thanks guys, im half way done to my first AR-15 that i have been wanting for the past 4-5 years now to find an upper,flip up iron sights, and an EO-tech holographic and fire away hahah
