had one of these not long after me and the boss lady got together. almost 27 plus years ago. the last few years i have been looking for one.

picked this one up and it has been sitting. should have taken a few pics before i put the rims on it a cleaned it up.
got it running and insured it yesterday. took it to the gas station and filled it up for 27 bucks.
for now i put a weber carb and its an auto. only has 86k and change on it.
i have already picked up a acme adapter for it and soon it will be sporting a vw tdi diesel and yota 5 speed, but for now i am just gonna enjoy it.
they make about 90 hp and around 140 tq, the tdi with an upgrade turbo will do 170 to 190 and make over 250 on tq. it will also get 50+ mpg
original interior,the wheels are factory hummer h3's with kenda kr 20's..

Back in the day I had a couple of them, an 84' king cab also 85 standard cab both 5 speeds yours must be a deluxe model neither of mine had clock or tach great little trucks.

been wanting to do one for a long time. i found the truck,then i found a used adapter kit with the starter and flywheel,then a buddy has a 5 speed yota trans. its all kind of coming together. had i not ordered the weber,i would be elbow deep in tho the conversion. as of now i am gonna drive it and find a doner tdi jetta or beetle. since its running and driving i am gonna be picky about the miles on the tdi. should be fun when its all done...

i wish it was a 5 speed. but it runs out pretty good with the auto.. as far as deluxe,its a ST but it has cruise control..
i had 2 85's both 5 speed king cabs. i put a 350 in one of them....

ST must have been the "top of the line" package for 720s auto trans, clock, tach, cruise control not to mention the cool 80's cloth seats and door panels! The Diesel/5speed swap ought to be pretty sweet..

Not long ago I was Googling around and thinking of trying to do an 80s style low rider mini truck. This style Nissan and the old Mazda B2000 were the first models I thought of. They have the perfect squared off lines for it.
I now own a 91 Hardbody style that my stepfather bought new. It's on the third engine. The last two were new crate engines. I doubt it needed it but he wouldn't listen. Anyway it's an extended cab 4 cyl 5 speed 4wd. Only problem is that it's black. I hate owning black vehicles especially in the South.
The TDI swap sounds cool as hell. The ONLY water cooled VWs I would own are TDIs .
