Found that I have more ammo than I realized.

I heard on the news radio, some 30 years ago in a suburb of Buffalo New York, that the bomb squad was called out and removed a suspicious piece of military munition from some old widow's house.

Her late husband had been a World War II vet they didn't identify what the munition was, but they took it to a safe place and detonated it with a controlled explosion .


Later, my father, being a retired firefighter and having numerous contacts with the police department made some inquiries.

The dangerous military explosive in question was a single round of .30 caliber rifle cartridge M2 ball.

(Dad & I figured that the police bomb squad's budget is more likely to be increased every year if they can report that they were called out a number of times and actually had to use that fancy bomb-hauling truck that probably cost the taxpayers $200,000.)
