If somebody made a non-NFA "firearm" that looked like a pistol-caliber short-barreled carbine, with a shoulder stock, using non-twist straight grooves in the barrel, and chambered in in .45 ACP, I'd be interested. Even if those big bullets tumbled and accuracy was only minute-of-bad-guy within 20 yards, I think it would make a good home defense firearm if it had something like a 10" barrel and huge "ghost ring" sights.
