Heart of an old rotten pine stump.
Fatlighter, fatwood, lighterknot and lots of other nick names.
You can scrape it or widdle off a piece and start a fire even if its been raining.
Condensed pine resin burns good

If you are in a survival situation, scrap the bark off a yellow pine..Cut the meat and check the next day..The Pine rosin will bleed out and is extremely flammable. Lightning hitting a pine can also cause it, it is very dense and will evaporate if exposed to the air, best to cut off only what it takes to start the fire.
