all u need is mothers polish and some time..i can make them look like chrome!

...And if you find that you don't like the polished look you can always apply a brushed finish afterward with sandpaper or a green Brillo pad. Clear wheel paint is a good way to protect the finish of either.
We bought a set of 15x10 8 lug slot mags
That looked like they had been buried Ina swamp
We used a brass wire wheel in a drill and dish soap for lube and a helper misting water on it
Followed by all the acid and polishing with the mothers red ball thing that goes in the drill

Now I want some old rims to clean up .... and I don't even have anything to put them on. 
I used the "etching" version of this stuff on a badly mud stained 4-wheeler engine a couple years ago.
Sprayed it on, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then hosed it off. I was amazed at how well it worked.
They turned out pretty well for the age and condition
They were made in the 60s
The brass wire wheel for the drill was pricy though
