Again, if he does absolutely nothing it becomes law. The ONLY way it does not become law is if Deal vetos it and that's a risk he is unlikely to take. So relax, have a cold beer, and lets see what happens...

Sure doesn't sound like a "consistent, unapologetic supporter of gun rights" to me.

He is a putz.

"When you get to the real philosophy behind all of it, the question is whether government in any form or fashion has the right to make those judgment calls, or does the Constitution speak for itself," Deal said in an interview last week. "That is where the debate is."
 
He is probably going to let it go into law by default instead of giving it a thumbs up or down. Strategically it will be better for him since Jason Carter voted yes. If he votes no he is done and he knows it.
