Gun stolen by Police or Tow Company ???

You got the story second hand. Pulled over for 7mph over the limit? 6-10 over the speed limit is just a max fine of $25.00 per state law. Should have just been a warning. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Driving around with a bag containing a firearm, weed and weed vape is asking for misery. He needs to just write it off and start to think like a responsible adult.

Standard procedures is completing an inventory of valuables in the car for each impounded vehicle. You don’t leave firearms or valuables in an impounded car for this reason.

The MJ vape alone is a FELONY and she could’ve been charged with possession of firearm during commission of certain felonies for having the vape and gun together. Did they collect it for safekeeping to not leave it in the car? Or did they collect it for evidence and she’s not being honest about that felony?

I would contact the agency bc it could be so simple as watching BWC to determine A) if the gun was actually there B) if there was some kind of misconduct by cop C) if someone at the tow yard stole it or D) kid was too high to remember what happened with the firearm.

Good luck

If the vape had/has THC maybe the gun is in storage pending testing ?

Then the felony warrants will be taken when the test results come back?

Get a copy of the incident report, and talk to the arresting officer.
Most rotation wrecker services for agencies have to be background checked, and jump thru hoops.
Most aren’t thieves. Tho people be people.

If I may. . . 52/45MPH ? Hmmm was it a State agency/Trooper/Warden/Officer ?
If not was it a School zone?
If not maybe consult good advice givers on that one?

FOIA request the body cam and dash cameras of all officers involved in the stop.

Read the report, as Drugs and guns usually equals more felony charges, not just a missing gun.

Possible it was just misplaced.

The prostitution ring inside the Cherokee county jail is real, but for most part the patrol deputies are pretty straightforward.

Yeah and just because someone is employed in law enforcement doesn’t mean they aren’t a criminal either !!
I have seen and met more dirty cops than I care to even count !! Unfortunately!
I had to read back over your original post a second time. The fact that there was no charge for carrying the gun either by and underage person or in the presence of a controlled substance OR BOTH is a a sign to ME. And yes it seemed like they were on a fishing trip when they stopped ANYONE for 52 in a 45. That's weaker than kindergarten Kool Aid. In fact it sounds a LOT like the same tactics Perry PD uses around here. It also what makes me think that the cop/deputy was an opportunist type thief. As in he saw a chance to steal from someone who he felt like couldn't do **** about it and he took that opportunity. I lean towards the cop doing it since most towing companies that are on the "City and County Call List" rotation want to STAY on it since it's a huge windfall gravy train for them. The ones I've known were very thorough. They already have a license to steal...from YOU ...in the form of cash when you pick up your vehicle.
This county "LOST" the old Rossi 971 stainless 357 that my first wife shot herself with back in 97. And when I made an issue about it they acted like I was some kinda morbid freak for even asking about it. "Why in the world would you want a blood stained revolver back?!" How bout "Because I don't feel like donating it to you corrupt assholes?"
Anyway the lost Glock needs to be reported stolen so whoever IS holding it is holding on to a felony wrap. And if the pawn it or sell/trade it to a shop then their fate is sealed by their own stupidity .

Well, free gun for the cop…. A weed head speeding got pulled over, the smell of mj gave the kahp reason to search ( he did find weed, so his suspicion was right) . If you do dumb stuff like this, then you deserve to get robbed by the dirty Mack 😂 I have nothing against an adult using whatever substance they want, be responsible and don’t smell like it or drive while high.

I took a wife's young ( 20 y/o ) friend home from work on Tuesday , & she stated back in Oct her 21 y/o BF was pulled over for speeding 52 in a 45 by Cherokee Co .
Why are you so concerned as to what happened to your wife’s young friends boyfriend’s firearm?
Get a copy of the police report if you are so concerned. It will give you more information than posting a thread in the internet of some story you’ve heard third hand.
May be hard to do being you probably don’t even know the guys name.SMDH
