HB859: "Campus Carry" Bill Introduced by Rep Jasperse

Deal telegraphed to an Atlanta reporter for WSB that he is going to veto the bill.

Responding to a question by the reporter about whether he was going to sign the bill, Deal said he told the legislature two years about his concerns for day care and high school students. Apparently the legislature wasn't listening or Deal didn't say it very loudly. :ear:

Anyway, that's his story and he is sticking to it.

There's a big VETO in your future, so get out the Preparation H right now, so you will be ready.

Y'all voted for him, not me.

I voted for the Libertarian guy, but having to think that even Jason Carter might have been better on guns than Deal.

While I didn't vote for Deal and am definitely not a fan of the weasel, I don't think he will vero this bill. I believe that he will sign it into law tomorrow, possibly later if he interprets his 40 day period somehow differently.

Most of his dirty work happens in the shadows. He took a lot of heat for vetoing the religious freedom bill, hopefully his vetoing of controversial bills is done this year.
