HB859: "Campus Carry" Bill Introduced by Rep Jasperse

I love how they focus on the students in all these discussions, when 75% of undergraduates won't even be old enough to get a license. You won't see dorms getting shot-up by drunk students with legal guns because juniors and seniors live off-campus by the time they are allowed to have a permit anyway.

They never mention that campus carry is really for the older (usually night-school or grad) students who live off campus. It's for the teachers and administrators and staff who would lose their jobs otherwise.

They also fail to mention that hundreds of colleges and universities have always allowed campus carry and in general, are the safest campuses in the US.

But of course the fear mongers have to have their 15 minutes of fame, so they can predict 'blood in the streets' that will never happen.

Good point. "College kids" under 21 won't be getting licenses (few few U.S. military vets will be in college prior to age 21, even though they could get licenses at age 18).
This would have pretty much zero impact on younger college kids, EXCEPT to keep them safer from jihadists and domestic lunatics who would think about a massacre at a school, since some of the older students would be carrying weapons and available to interfere with the bad guys' evil plans.
