The suspect is alleged to be legally prohibited from owning any weapons.

Through a search of the residence, the AG’s office said DOJ agents seized:

60 assault rifles

37 rifles

7 shotguns

133 handguns

Several suspected grenades

20 silencers

4 flare guns

3,000 large-capacity magazines

Approximately 1 million rounds of various caliber ammunition

Dozens of rifle receivers and pistol frames


Go big or go home. Gotta say, not bad. 🍻
 
Sure they are.....Most of that stuff will end up going home with a cop or politician (or someone who pays them off).

Two reasons why not:

1) Case is too high profile. Carefully cataloged evidence (by feds as well as state) on a case that will likely continue to garner publish interest and certainly the attention of a motivated defense lawyer who will make trouble over missing seizures.

2) Why risk a six figure state job, for a toy from a collection like that?
 
I bet the backstory is going to be very interesting; the lack of normally typical details in the article suggests there are things the state would prefer we not know. Who was the perp? Why was he prohibited?
And how long had he been prohibited?….they slap him with a fake red flag complaint, then raid his legal collection within a short time,…… BOHICA! SNAFU! FUBAR!
