Looks like a copperhead to me. I'd search all night. I've heard they don't like lime. It burns their belly. You could scatter some lime on the floor all around. I don't think I would do that though. You might never know where he goes after you do that.

Use a steam jenny and "clean" under every thing in the building. Put it on the hottest setting.

He will come out (at a high rate of speed) , and you should have backup that is armed and more likely to shoot the snake than you.
