Swapping to 4x4 isn't that hard to do. I wanted one too but to convert to a truck, got a bobbed comanche instead.

The XJ's are a great platform to build on. I would go with another one in a heartbeat.

I'd like a 2 door Cherokee but they're hard to find with 4WD.

Find a 2wd 2 door and convert it to 4wd. Everything bolts up front axle wise and the hole is in the floor for the tcase. Just find you a 4wd aw4 and tcase.

My vote is for the XJ too. They are fun.

Yeah we had a 92 2 WD that my wife's niece wound up with and I had an 88 2 door 4wd when I worked at an auto salvage. I knew the trans tunnels and consoles were the same. So there is room in that wide ass tunnel for the T case. I do like the Cherokee it's just that every one I find is either 2wd or worn out.
