I hate cops period. Always have and more than likely always will going by I have been harassed by them to much. I think the situation could have been handled differently.

Your prerogative, of course, but I'll just stick to the original theme in this thread:
You claim the situation could have been handled differently, and I agree; the aggressor in this case could have secured his dog properly and prevented this entire occurrence.
Yes, I know what you meant to say was: The officers could have used less than lethal force, but, unfortunately, an officer was put in a position of defending his life, due to to the lack of foresight and the decisions of the dog's owner. Now, if you remove emotion and the subsequent result of this situation, it is just another lethal force on force encounter that is discussed here regularly. A potentially lethal threat became apparent during this altercation with the result of lethal force being used to stop it.
While a taser or pepper spray may have also been plausible, you just don't get to make that call because you weren't the one trying to immediately react to said lethal threat..... Had the instigator secured his dog, or, chosen a better time/place to make his stand against LEOs, this might have been avoided, but so many are so quick to judge what any one of us might have done in a similar situation, but blame "evil law enforcement" to make it all feel better.
First off I would not have escalated the situation like the LEO's did. What law was he breaking? I ask again. The LEO's had no business coming over to the man. The man obviously did not know he was going to be arrested or he would have probably put his dog up, I know that part is conjecture. The aggressor here is clearly the LEO's, based on the video. Kinda hard to secure your dog when 3 cops are holding you and you are handcuffed.
This is exactly why a lot of folks hate cops! The guy they "arrested" was doing nothing, NOT A THING WRONG!!! He was walking around watching the activity, laughing, & had his camera phone out. Did these dumbass Barney Fifes think he had an "assault phone". The dog was doing what all dogs od, protecting his master!!! where in the hell are they recruiting these "cops" from? The black guy, they arrested had been there & wasn't bothering a soul; what about all his peeps with cell phone cameras plus the one who made this video? Why not just bring in the whole damned tactical team & bust them all?! no doggone wonder law & order is breaking down all over the USA with trash like this in our PD's! SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN INITIATED BY THOSE COPS!
I hope the poor black guy gets a high profile lawyer & owns this town!!! From his demeanor looks like he'd make a better cop than those who did this evil deed. I'd really like to know exactly what they were planning on charging him with. And if they had some suspicion of him as a criminal why in the hell didn't they approach him when they first crossed the street & tell him from a distance to secure his animal before they cuffed him. I don't want pretend cops like this "protecting" me or my hometown. I've known cops all my life; been beer can plinking, shooting & barbecues with them. Know retired "old school" cops , who've been deep in the fray & none of them would do this or condone it........most of them share the precise sentiments I've posted here & we talk of the "new norm" & punks who are now being hired.

Cops rarely harass innocent people. Maybe you should stop doing whatever it is you're doing that gets their attention.

You know what?!!! there isn't anything right about what this video shows, & my ex LE peeps agree. I've already posted my commentary, but this is such a mess, a reflection of our nation as a whole.... I had to go & read some of those Bible Verses in the "Today's Bible Verse" thread after seeing this. I pray for God to help deliver us from all this corruption & evil & I pray for the strength to cling to my Bible & guns until the very end.
