Pro sports are all about $$$. Endorsements, ticket sales, radio/TV rights etc.
Play well or play bad you still get paid.
Get to far ahead in the standings the ontheroad gate sales fall off. Can't let that happen. Gotta keep it close.
It's all just like pro wrestling, just different uniforms.
