Got an email today. Email says it’s legal to own, but I’m pretty sure it’s a bad idea.

If you own an AR and have one of these (and several like that like a Drop in auto sear) the ATF can put you in prison for constructive possession of a machine gun. If you drill a hole in your lower where the auto-sear needs a pin to rotate, in their minds that has modified it to operate as a machine gun. Even if you have nothing else, or have no other bits and pieces.

Google ‘Dias’ and you can come up with dozens of plans. If you make one and own an AR, you have exposed yourself to the possibility.

But the ATF has to find out to prosecute. Brownings sells straight m-16 lower kits. Same deal

I went to a couple gun shows with cash looking for -16 lower parts kits to pay cash. I never saw them
