I am lucky to have received this from my FIL..he received from his FIL.

A really cool rifle with J Unertl optic. She is not for sale, just looking for any helpful information. I have searched and not seen anything like it. She is sound and locks up tight. I have purchased ammo and intend to shoot her up at Wilson Shoals, perhaps this weekend.

The action is a German military Gewehr 98, made in 1916 by JP Sauer & Sohn.

Someone used the action as the basis of a custom varmint rifle in .220 Swift. This means the original rifle was completely disassembled, and everything except for the action was replaced.

Double set triggers.

I‘m assuming the scope is a 10X Unertl.

I put 40 rounds of Hornady 55gr Vmax through her today up at Wilson Shoals. Had a few comments on the stock and the unusual optic...1st time I fired and no tellin' when the last time she was fed...functioned flawlessly. The 2nd pull on double set trigger is about 0.5lb...like a feather.
