M1 Garand barrel markings

Does anyone know a good place to find M1 Garand markings. I just picked one up yesterday the trigger group and receiver match but the barrel is dated later. I’m trying to see if I can find out what the markings mean. The receiver is from February of 44 and the barrel dates to 53’ is all I can find.

Springfield, June of 53 .. have you checked the ME? That is major important than anything else

I ordered a set of gauges. But I checked it with a bullet in the muzzle before I bought it and it seemed good. Bore was also bright and shiny. For $600 I figured it was worth a chance.

It is worth that. Buy some M2 ball and go shoot it. enjoy

I’d buy an otherwise great shape M1 with a shot out barrel for that price!

It shot pretty good. My range at home is only about 75 yards but I was able to make a bowling pin dance. I’m going to strip it down and clean it really good. From what I’ve seen all the parts a Springfield arms. Wish these guns could talk.

I love Garands. my 41 and 42 springfields have war stories that would chill your bones.
