How about remove suppressors from the NFA and just sell them over the counter like a firearm with a standard background check? Or, maybe, without even a background check since a suppressor is not a firearm.

E-File was supposed to have sped up the process and it’s been hit or miss (I’ve got one waiting since March). Until there is a punitive measure put in place (mandatory refund of transfer tax on any approval taking more than 90 days) they will drag their feet because they can. Like everyone else said there should be no process, transfer tax just over the counter sales like a sling or a scope.

For those that have gone through the waiting to get you tax stamp, what background check does the ATF run that differs from a gun purchase background check or to get your Concealed Carry Permit. I do not think that my background changes in any of those scenarios!
