New Overland Build

I wafted back and forth on my first Overlander, came down to the Sequoia or the Land Rover LR3. Ended up with LR3, next one will likely be the Sequoia.
Really like the locking dif's in the rough stuff though.
I'm actually kind of excited about having AWD, locked AWD and 4WD. It will be nice when just driving loose gravel roads to be able to just throw it in AWD and not have to really think about it. I love the look of the LR3 but they had a lot of reliability things over the years that always made me nervous.

This is the goal I am going for. Just a simple 2.5" lift, some 33's and then permanently mounted camping gear.

I see it's got a V8. Nice! What power plant is there 4.7L?
Yes sir, it really is a great bargain. You get Toyota reliability, a V8 motor called "The Million Mile Motor", 8 passengers, 4WD, and I even overpaid at $8,500 because I wanted that color and the interior was mint. You can buy a higher mileage or slightly more tired interior for $3-5,000.

It's a great engine - but boy, replacing that starter is a nightmare.
