New pistol broken and dealer is........

Sorry to burst your bubble boys but it doesn't work that way the gun store isn't responsible for Ruger's quality control if the LGS does an unauthorised repair the warranty is void If you come in my store you will get the same response why should I make one of my guns unusable when its Ruger's issue.

Once you became a dealer, you are a representative for whatever manufacturers guns you sell. Just like a guy that sells Ford trucks, when there is a problem a good dealer will do what it takes to make it right. The cop out guys always points the finger at Ford or the manufacturer.

Uh, no. Car dealers BUY a franchise in return for a guaranteed geographic market share for their product. There is contractual obligations to provide service for the manufacturer's product, but not an unlimited obligation, the manufacturer is still responsible for the product. Don't believe it? Sue a car dealer for a faulty car design and see how far you get.

Gun "dealers" have no relationship with gun manufacturers, their only responsibility is to the ATF .

Does a hardware store represent every nut and bolt manufacturer? No!

Well, let's see how long you stay in business when you do not take care of your customers. Doing the right thing or going that extra mile makes all the difference in the world in the eyes of customers.

Nope. Same pistol, similar problem. This thing is a bitch to take apart and I have to clean the snot out of it to get it to fire without any FTF's. I've yet to go through a mag without a FTF; suppressed and unsuppressed. I've tried a few different kinds of ammo.

If it has an LCI, that is your problem. Whoever thought sticking an obstruction in the chamber was a good idea on a semi-auto gun?

I know this isnt the same but take a look at Buds Return policy on new guns. I may be wrong but I've known this to be the rule from day 1.

NEW FIREARM RETURNS

  • VERY IMPORTANT - FIREARM RETURNS!! Please take your time to inspect all firearms thoroughly BEFORE proceeding with the transfer. Once a new firearm is transferred to you, it is considered used, even if unfired. Consequently, we cannot accept returns on firearms once they have been transferred into your possession. Also, we DO NOT reimburse FFL transfer fees on returned items. **Upon discovering a defect AFTER the transfer, the firearm MUST be returned directly to the the manufacturer for replacement or repair (in accordance with manufacturer's warranty policy). By sending a defective firearm directly to the manufacturer, you can avoid the unnecessary transfer fees associated with returning the firearm to us through your local FFL dealer. Manufacturer repaired firearms can be returned directly to the customer without additional FFL transfer or associated fees. BudsGunShop.com will provide a prepaid label to ship the firearm to the manufacturer, if a prepaid label is not covered under their warranty.

Buds will even cover your shipping to the manufacturer if they wont but 99% of manufacturers will. Thats just how things works.

My gundealer says over 80% of his "sales" are internet transfers. What worked for retail 20 years ago is way outdated now.

A retailer has already provided you with a service by using his own money and buying the product for his inventory so you, the customer, can come fondle it in the flesh before you order one on the net, or that 1 in 5 times you just buy the one in the case.
