5 sighters, 10rds slow Prone, 10rds rapid Prone, 10rds slow Standing
2 matches, $20 first match, $10 second match. Same rifle or different rifles.
I'll be shooting a 1926 Spanish 7mm Mauser.

Any of you HP shooters make the leap? Have you gone to the A4 with optics? What is your set up? Did your scores go up? Make a huge difference? I am still shooting my Garand and my recently acquired BushMaster A2 Service rifle..very retro....LOL...

I shoot the River Bend Monthly NRA High Power 800agg today.
Those unfamiliar with NRA High Power, Each position you get 2 sighters then shoot for score.
20 shoots for score, 200yrds Slow Fire Standing (22 minutes, 22 shoots)
20 shoots for score, 200yrds Rapid Fire Sitting/Kneeling (after sighters, 60 seconds for 10 shoots, first mag 2 rounds, mag change, 8 rounds)
20 shoots for score, 300yrds Rapid Fire Prone (after sighters, 70 seconds for 10 shoots, first mag 2 rounds, mag change, 8 rounds)
20 shoots for score, 600yrds Slow Fire Prone (22 minutes, 22 shoots)
-- winds were 3-5mph, I had 0.5moa wind on the scope at 600.
-- X's are scored as a 10 and only used to break ties.
My personal high to date, 2nd string at 300 also a person high:
-- 14 shooters today, my score was good enough for 1st place.

If you would like to learn to shoot this type of match RiverBendGunClub puts on a $15 Clinic/Match every month.
It all shot at 100yrds but the targets used simulate 200/300/600 targets. It's a blast.

Here's what a purpose build National Match AR15 with hand loaded match ammo can do:
-- 300yrds, X ring width 3 inches, 10 ring 7", 9 ring 13", 8 ring 19", 7 ring 25", 6 ring 31", 5 ring 37"
Unsupported Prone with sling in 70secs.

A4 with Nightforce Service Rifle Optic built to stay within the NRA/CMP rules (max 4.5 power and 33mm objective lense).

That is just awesome. See any M1a or M1 garands or plain Jane A2 rifle on the line?

So the world of HP has changed completely, that was quick, What 2 years ? I guess the Army/Marine teams lead the way and everyone else follows.
