Living in South Ga almost any deal requires travel. I have always figured if I can work a deal that works for both parties cool if not cool. I have always considered a deal set when we have agreed on price and a meeting time.

Put yourself in the shoes of the seller. Taking the sale that is sooner is the better deal. If it falls through (and they do), then you can contact the folks that you passed over to see if they are still interested. I don't think the person did anything to get offended over.
