This gun has been passed down through the family and I’ve always heard the story of how when my great grandfather was in war, this cake off a German that he killed. It’s in my hands now and I was going to see if anyone knows anything about it or the marking on it. The grips are not the originals. His son has the original grips. Any info is helpful. Just trying to see if this story is able to be true with the gun and all. Thanks also I know it’s old because I was there when they read out his will back in 2000-ish times and they told this story.

Walther PPK, as you know, can be dated from the serial number, commercial proofs. I don't see any military inspection / acceptance marks in the pics.

I'm not sure beyond any doubt, but the roll mark above the N does not to appear to be the wing spread eagle. Also from my recollection when I used to covet a nazi PPK myself, there should be a K at the end of the serial number if it's true nazi. As stated above, the serial number should you some answers.

Whichever way it goes, you still have a vintage Walter PPK in nice shape with a cool back sorry.

Thanks. Didn’t know that. I know I didn’t see no military marks at all. Any1 familliar with that mark at the chamber and on the slide?

This website may help you nail down the "variation"
as the design was tweaked with small changes through the years.

Your serial number-- is it only 5 digits,
and starting with the prefix letter "P"?

Other than the model being a PPK, and engraved as such, there's no "K" anywhere else on the gun, right?

****** Nevermind on the website above. It's all about MILITARY (Wehrmacht) Walthers. Not commercial models sold to citizens. *******
