I recently sold a 1917 P-17 30-06 made by Winchester in November 1918. It had the most exact muzzle wear measurement I'd ever had in any of my 30-06 weapons....it was exactly .30 on a .30 + pin gauge.... It took me weeks of digging to find out why so tight specs on the Winchesters then. Found it in Hatcher's Notebook which made a special mention of that...

That's coincidence! I have a US Army Colt 1911A1 made in 1943 by Colt, inspected by GHD....
