Is that a K31? I'd like to know exactly how old mine is. How were you able to date it?

My great grandfathers A.B. Richard 12 ga. Barrell so thin you can see thru them.The 1911 carbine was the fore-runner of the K31. It was a shortened version of the model 1911 which had a 31" (!) barrel.
