One and Done Hunting Rifle

Remington 700 Classic in 35 Whelen with Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8 and a Timney Elite Hunter trigger. I would take this rifle anywhere in North America, however would use a variety of bullets depending on the game being hunted.

My dad had a pre 1970 300 savage f model lever action I don't remember the scoop but never had to track anything I have been looking for 27 years and unable to find one.

When no one is watching shoot 243 and you’ll have more fun when you get old.
Hornady says 243 has enough power to hunt

Get you a 6.5 creedmoor. The classifieds are full of cheap rifles people can’t find ammo for.

But seriously don’t complicate things with boutique calibers. You’re in Georgia. Get a .308 and be done with it.

OP is looking for a rifle as a one and done for "all of North America". Since hunters in the North West like to carry rifles that are capable of defending against brown bear, some would rather carry a heavier hitting cartridge than a 6.5 Creedmoor.
