Not my kind of music but the media sure gives a lot more coverage then when Merle, George and Waylon died.

Haggard, Jones, and Jennings were all considerably older.
Prince was healthy-looking, young-looking. More of a shock.

Went to see Purple Rain concert in the 80's. That was the best concert I've ever attended. The little dude had some awesome talent.

That was at the Omni. My mom would no let me go because I wasn't old enough. Less than a year later she let me go to the Omni to see AC/DC. We smoked so much weed. Go figure...

More than likely. He wrote Manic Monday for the Bangles and No One Compares to You for Sinead O'Connor. I can't stand the latter song. But Prince could write. BTW there's a good cover of When Doves Cry on YouTube by the ultimate cover band Government Mule.

One of, if not the most, influential pop musicians ever. Boatloads of talent as a songwriter, instrumentalist, and performer. Had few peers in terms of talent. And by all accounts, a very good human being as well.
