Question about out of state.

I listed a rifle on armslist...cause i think the replies are entertaining as hell...well this dude with a really nice 1911 emailed me about a trade. I look at the listing, says Augusta GA. I ask him where we could meet...halfway, good so far. I hit the see other listing by seller button. Both pistols he has listed are listed in Augusta GA and Aiken SC. I ask the dude if he has a carry permit and a GA DL. Replies that he is a SC resident. I ask if he is able to meet me at a FFL halfway and legally do this...I fill out a 4473 in GA for the pistol, and fill out 4473 in GA for the rifle. Straight ghost after that. Do I report this to the ATF? I have his name, address, phone# and email address. Thanks.

Yeah, I'd just send him a link to ATF's frequently asked questions about interstate firearms transfers, and expect never to hear from him again.
If he wants to try to break the law, that's his business. Just stay out of it and don't help him.

Nah, he was probably a scofflaw who didn't really know the law, and once you told him about it, didn't care. He'll move on and try to find another person who is ignorant or criminally willing to deal with him.

I cannot buy a pistol from a SC resident in SC or GA. An FFL would have to be involved. I asked if he has a GA ID so I would know if i were legal to trade with him.
